Rachel Weisberg joined DRA as a Supervising Attorney in 2023. Prior to DRA, Ms. Weisberg spent 12 years with Equip for Equality, Illinois’ protection and advocacy agency, where she led several systemic advocacy efforts, represented hundreds of individual clients in disability discrimination cases, and oversaw a team of attorneys and advocates fighting to advance disability rights. Ms. Weisberg also developed new legal advocacy programs, including EFE’s Employment Rights Helpline.  

Ms. Weisberg’s prior experience includes working as an assistant attorney general in the Civil & Disability Rights Sections of the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, law clerk to the Honorable James G. Carr in the Northern District of Ohio, and labor and employment associate at Sidley Austin LLP. Ms. Weisberg also developed and co-taught the first Disability Law course at the University of Illinois Chicago. During law school, Ms. Weisberg interned with the Disability Rights Section of the U.S. Department of Justice and before law school, worked as an ADA technical assistance specialist at the Mid-Atlantic ADA Center.

Ms. Weisberg received her J.D. cum laude from Northwestern University School of Law in 2008 and her B.A. from the University of Michigan in 2003.
