Brittany Castle joined Disability Rights Advocates in 2022 as a Staff Attorney. Prior to joining Disability Rights Advocates, she worked for several years representing immigrants detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, including as an attorney at the American Friends Service Committee and the Immigrant Defense Project. In these roles, she defended noncitizens against deportation and frequently litigated the legality of lengthy detention and conditions of confinement in immigration detention facilities. Brittany also volunteered with the Parole Preparation Project where she helped people incarcerated in New York state prisons prepare for hearings before the parole board. Brittany received her J.D. magna cum laude from NYU School of Law, where she was selected as an Arthur Garfield Hays Civil Liberties Fellow and participated in the Advanced Immigrant Rights Clinic. She received her B.A. summa cum laude from Case Western Reserve University.
