Position: Senior Staff Attorney

Christina Brandt-Young is a Senior Staff Attorney at Disability Rights Advocates. Christina advocates for the civil rights of persons with disabilities, including access to voting and the justice system.

Christina has worked to promote human rights at organizations around the world.  She was an Equal Justice Works Fellow at Legal Momentum (formerly the NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund).  She was the inaugural attorney of the New York Legal Assistance Group Domestic Violence Appellate Representation Project.  Christina conducted successful impact litigation under Title VII and Title IX with Legal Momentum and with the ACLU Women’s Rights Project.   She has worked with the Commission on Gender Equality in Cape Town, South Africa, the Cambodian Women’s Crisis Center in Phnom Penh, and Interights in London.  She has served on appellate appointed counsel panels, gives frequent trainings, and has contributed to several publications.

Christina received a law degree cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2002, master’s degrees from Northwestern University in 1997 and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1999, and a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Northwestern University in 1997.  She is admitted to practice in all New York State courts, the U.S. District Court of New York (Southern and Eastern Districts), and the United States Supreme Court.
