Alex Schwartz is a law student at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon and a summer law clerk at DRA’s Berkeley office.  After finishing his undergraduate studies in Rhetoric & Media Studies, he moved to Seattle to work for Disability Rights Washington (DRW) in their Video Advocacy Project. His close work with the legal team at DRW inspired him to pursue a career as an attorney and an advocate. Last summer he worked for the Center for Public Representation in Boston, where he worked on several Olmstead actions and also on a new Supported Decision Making project. This past school year he worked for Disability Rights Oregon and focused on their campaign to combat the criminalization of mental illness. He is now co-authoring an article about the impact of the Olmstead decision on informed choice for the Emory Law Review and the Olmstead at Twenty: The Past and Future of Community Integration Conference hosted by Georgia State University.
