Mental Health in Higher EducationAttention Higher Education Students with Psychiatric Disabilities
In May 2018, Disability Rights Advocates (DRA), a non-profit law center in Berkeley, California, filed suit against Stanford University, alleging that it has discriminated against students with mental health disabilities. We continue to collect stories of students’ experiences, positive or negative, at Stanford and other colleges and universities. If you have information to share about denied accommodations, leave of absence policies, or other aspects of academic or residential life, please share them with us.
If you have a mental health disability (e.g., anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, schizophrenia) and are currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in a college or university, we would love to hear from you to learn about your experiences.
