Sarah O. Zimmerman

Sarah O. Zimmerman teaches Advanced Brief Writing as an adjunct professor at Marquette University Law School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Before returning to her hometown of Milwaukee to raise two children, Sarah practiced general and appellate litigation for nine years with the San Francisco firm Rosen, Bien, Galvan & Grunfeld. Sarah litigated disability and other discrimination cases at the trial and appellate levels and represented California state prison inmates with disabilities in the remedial phase of the Armstrong v. Brown lawsuit. Sarah served as a law clerk to the Hon. Carlos F. Lucero on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit in Denver, Colorado. As a student at Yale Law School, Sarah led the Initiative for Public Interest Law at Yale, a group that raised and distributed seed money annually for innovative public interest law projects. Sarah currently serves on the boards of directors of Astor Street Foundation, 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, Lynden Sculpture Garden, University School of Milwaukee, and the Gardner Foundation.
