Attention people with mobility, hearing and vision disabilities:
Disability Rights Advocates has filed a class action lawsuit against GGNRA to remedy barriers to access and enjoyment of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) by people with mobility and sensory disabilities.
The suit addresses two major issues:
Physical Access — This includes physical access to buildings and structures, such as exhibits, monuments or visitor center/museum, picnic areas, trails, campsites, park entrances, parking, paths of travel, restrooms, telephones, or drinking fountains and signage.
Access to Programs, Services and Activities — This includes bicycling, boating, exhibits/interpretive programs, camping, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, educational programs, or events.
What locations are included in this lawsuit?
GGNRA consists of over 74,000 acres of land, and protects more than 1,250 historic structures.
