Summer Law Clerk Positions

Disability Rights Advocates (DRA) is a ten-lawyer public interest law firm located in Berkeley, California that specializes in civil rights litigation on behalf of people with disabilities. Focusing on high impact class actions, DRA's mission is to protect the rights of people with all types of disabilities and improve access to health care, housing, education, transportation and employment.

Summer Law Clerk Positions for First and Second Year Law Students

Each summer, DRA hires a minimum 3-5 summer law clerks to work with our attorneys on disability rights cases.

Our law clerks get excellent training in civil rights litigation. We pay $12 per hour, but preference will be given to those who have work study or grants (see resources below). We ask that you commit 10 consecutive weeks of your summer to DRA, but will consider split summer positions. Hiring decisions are made on a rolling basis beginning October 31st of each year. Please indicate in your cover letter that you are interested in the summer law clerk position.

Law Clerk Positions During the Academic Year

We are seeking second and third year law students to work during the academic year for course credit. A 15-20 hour/week minimum commitment is necessary. Please indicate in your cover letter that you are interested in a law clerk position during a spring or fall academic term.
