Celano v. Marriott
Marriot Adds Accessible Golf Carts for Players with Mobility DisabilitiesIn 2008, the Court ordered Marriott International, Inc. to provide accessible golf carts at all of its golf facilities nationwide. Accessible golf carts, also known as single-rider carts, are used by individuals with mobility impairments. The carts are operated with hand controls and have seats that swivel to get the golfer into a hitting position. As a result of this settlement, people with mobility disabilities now have the opportunity to participate in this sport and recreational activity. DRA and Co-counsel Chavez & Gertler, represented the plaintiffs in this landmark case that will set a precedent for golf courses nationwide.
