Thanks to the generous support of our donors, Disability Rights Advocates is pleased to make available on our website and in our offices the work of artists from the National Institute of Art & Disabilities (NIAD). NIAD provides an art program that promotes creativity, independence, dignity, and community integration for people with developmental and other disabilities.
Carole Shein, joined DRA as Development Director in 2010. She oversees fund development and manages foundation, law firm, corporate and individual donor cultivation. Her extensive fund raising experience has focused on policy, advocacy, and education for organizations including PolicyLink, Children Now, and the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights. Carole’s knowledge of the disability community was shaped as a board member for East Bay Innovations, a direct service organization for adults with developmental disabilities, and the ACLU-Northern California as a volunteer civil rights counselor.
